He definitely looks like a pitbull, and he is super-cute asleep! Does it matter very much to you? Even if he is a cross he is more pitbull than anything else. They have an undeserved reputation for aggression. It all depends on how they are brought up.

Hello! The very moment I saw this puppy, I felt very strongly that he is NOT a pitbull mix, but most DEFINITELY a Bull Terrier mix! If you aren't familiar with this breed, be sure to look for photos on the internet and I bet you will agree! Both breeds are in the "Bully" family, but the Bull Terrier has a very distinct look ; while still sharing the almond shaped eyes, their bodies are a bit different. The fur on your pup suggests a possible mix with something along the lines of a Samoyed. I've worked most of my life in dog rescue, with rehabbing Pits & Pit mixes being a specialty.

While no one can answer this question with absolute certainty without genetic testing, this would be my educated guess (& I could be completely wrong!). DNA testing is always an option & could provide some insight into breed specifics, such as temperament, that might guide you with training techniques best suited for your dog, etc. I have no doubt that he is a mix of working breeds based on his body type alone; perhaps that can give you a good start. This is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL puppy- thank you so much for sharing him!!

I agree that your puppy is most probably a bull terrier, which is totally different from a pitbull. IMHO, his wedge shaped head is one of the defining characteristics of this breed.

I agree your puppy is most probably a bull terrier, which i a totally different breed from a pitbull (I have a pit bull and love her to distraction). IMHO, the wedge shaped head is one of the defining characteristics of a bull terrier.

I am a cat person and I would just love to have this adorable puppy!!
I agree with one poster - whatever the breed he is sure a "keeper".

I believe your puppy looks similar to the dog featured on MASH TV series - not sure - but I always loved that dog...

I researched (for my own interest) as I may decide to become a dog person too.

Microsoft even has an app that will identify your dog by a photo. I am not into apps so most of this is unfamiliar to me. But Wikipedia has some nice photos and info also.

Here he is, I'm not sure what happen to the first pic I uploaded. The humane society said he was pitbull/terrier mix, not really sure what he is
