Buster is a medium/large sized dog. I got told he was an English Setter mixed with a Chocolate Lab. I don't see either in him. He has high energy and can run for hours. He is white with faint spots of brown on him, his ears are mostly brown and his nose is brown.

I definitely see labrador. The top picture is a typical lab look. There may be a little setter in there, too. I suspect the balance is something else entirely.
I certainly see dalmation and your description of the high energy level and loving personality certainly goes with that breed. I think the term "zest for life" was invented for dalmations.
