I bought this yesterday, but it didn't come with a tag. Please help me so I can care for it properly. There are three stems from which the leaves fold out, but I assume it is three separate plants as they are not conjoined?

It looks like a corn plant to me.
I believe your plant is in the Dieffenbachia family (sometimes called Dumb Cane) just not real sure of the exact name. It appears to be the one called Dieffenbachia wendlandii Schott.

After more research my end i believe it could be the 'Janet Craig' Dracaena which does not have as much of a stem to each leaf as your suggestion does.
