What Is This Houseplant?

succulent looking houseplantI have had this medium sized stiff leaf houseplant for several years. Recently, the stems and leaves have begun turning brown from the bottom up and the plant has sagged down. I need to identify the plant and then determine what I have done to it! Any help would be appreciated.

This looks like one of the many varieties of "mother-in-law tongue" plant-sharp and spiky! My late mother-in-law received one from a dear friend when her son and I eloped many years ago. Even tho my ex and I divorced just a few years later, we became very close and I miss her dearly!!!

It looks similar to my Zebra Haworthia succulent.

This is a Haworthia, or Zebra Cactus. They naturally turn brown at the bottom as the older leaves age. Yours is looking very healthy and robust!
