Photo Contest Winners - June 1, 2005 to July 15, 2005
First of all, I would like to say that picking the winners was a nightmare! We receive so many wonderful entries that this was very, very difficult. Thank you so much to everyone that submitted photos. It was a lot of fun publishing these and I hope everyone enjoyed seeing them.
Saving Money on Your Wedding Cake
We saved money on the wedding cake because we ordered a very plain cake. It was only frosted with pearl frosting edging. Then we took left over live flowers that were not used in the wedding and decorated the cake.
I decorated my bathroom "fish theme" spent less than $5 on paints by using the basic colors red, blue and yellow and mixing them up to get secondary colors. I also purchased 1 yard of light blue and 1 yard of a darker blue and sewed them together it to make the curtains.
Frugal Rubber Duck Baby Shower Idea
On July 3rd, I had a baby shower for a Niece. Being on a tight budget I have to STRETCH every dollar. She loves RUBBER DUCKS for the baby, so I chose this as a theme.
My cat Gus 2005. I remember about 2 years ago a red headed boy rode up on a bike asking if anyone wanted a kitten. Then he pulled a small white powder puff from his pocket. I took it home. Now he is so big ... it's hard to imagine him ever fitting into someones pocket.
Ornament Made from a Recycled CD
Make a beautiful ornament with an old CD. This is very simple and easy to do. Let your imagination soar!
I'm attempting once again to grow birdhouse gourds. They work well in hills with a lot of area to spread, but I don't have a large area to spare. They also will climb, so I'm trying it this way this year. I needed a trellis, and made my own from items I already had in the house.
