I'm turning 15 very soon and I'm not having a quinceneara like I had first wanted. I've never had a birthday party, because I'm not allowed. I won't be allowed to have friends over or hang out with them.

I don't know what to do because my parents rules are so strict. I want my birthday to be very special but so far everything isn't what I want, it's what my parents want. :/

Please help.

Is there a relative or family friend who would let you hold a party at their house? Or who might help you to persuade your parents that a very small party at your home would be a good idea?

I wonder why they won't allow it. Perhaps one of your parents is not well enough to cope with the noise of a party.

Hope it works out well for you.

Maybe you could try to talk to your parents. You could collaborate with them. You all could come up with an idea that you both like. It could be something that you want to do, but it is still following your rules. Your parents are probably so strict because they love you.

They don't want to see you make horrible mistakes. But your parents should also start to trust you, because you're a teenager, and soon you'll be an adult. If they want to hold you back, they'll only regret it in the end.

I'm having my 15th birthday party on June 16th. I usually do crazy stuff like a massive grade sleepover at a hotel, or a chocolate war party. I don't like the boring topical parties, but it's hard this year because I have more guy friends than girl friends. So what should I do? It's also 2 days after school ends. And I don't have a pool. Please help!

Thank you.

Considering the previous parties are all about fun, how about something serious that gives back to the community.
You could all volunteer at a food bank, the animal shelter, clean up the neighborhood park...and then have that party everyone has earned.

P.S. Volunteer at a food pantry. All with prior arrangements, of course. Then all go out to dinner. This waay, the whole party is chaperoned on site.

How about good ole bowling and pizza? Or, as a group, volunteer to walk dogs at a local animal shelter.

April 24, 20130 found this helpful

Why not everyone kick in $15 and go to a lovely restaurant where you need to dress up a little. Then let your hair down (figuratively speaking) and go bowling, or perhaps to a movie that you want to see.

Manicure with your friends (everyone pays for her own). Spend the night party with movies rented from the Red Box (just a dollar each).

See if your area has a dollar movie theater. Just have fun together!

How about a pampering pj party, with pizzas, iced tea or lemonade, chips & dip/ salsa, brownies or smores & cake & ice cream? You can go to lots of magazine & tea sites for homemade recipes for really cheap diy body gels & scrubs, facials, body lotions, masks, face washes, toners & scrubs, even hair masks & conditioners. Then, they can all paint their finger nails & toes, while watching a favorite teen movie.
Or
2. For goody bags you can hit the sample isles at CVS, Walgreens or other favorite discount store, or go to dollar stores & get nail polishes ,removers, toe separators, lip glosses (or make your own) & other girlie things like hair ties.

(Lg.Packages come with a lot & you could separate them, a few of each to each girl) or put them around a votive candle & give glow sticks & incense cones or sticks, pad & pen, a few candies, gum, mints, etc. in goodie bags. Good luck & happy saving. : )

How about a bowling or miniature golf outing with food included. Most sports places have a room to rent where you can party and eat before or after the sports part at a reasonable cost.

Waterpark sounds like fun in July but would be crowded if that matters? Invite fun guests and just have a ball.

What kind of budget do you have? Slumber party and some rented movies would be cheap, with some snacks or make your own pizzas. Or roller skating, bowling, rock climbing, book a group session at a local cosmetology school for makeovers.

Chili and cornbread will feed many people. You can also make a cake out of a mix and serve lemonade, which are both inexpensive. If you don't want your guests to bring gifts, say so on the invitation.

You could also have them donate to a charity of your choice, instead of bringing gifts.

I know that this is short notice, but my 15th birthday is tomorrow (December 28th) and my bestfriend and I wanted to do an all day activity, preferably dressed up either a nice jeans outfit or dresses. Keep in mind that this is not my birthday party, this is just for the day of my birthday.

I was thinking multiple activities like shopping or a movie and a nice dinner and stuff like that, but if any of you have a suggestion that I could add to the list that would be fantastic. Another reminder is that it can't require a long term reservation as this is tomorrow. Thank you!

Seeing how your birthday has passed I won't give you any suggestions on what activities you should do, but I will give you a piece of advice to remember throughout the year. This time in your life is crazy, it will drag by day after day like nothing changes, yet at the same time everyone and everything will be changing all the time. You will feel like it will be forever before you can just grow up and do what you want when you want, like being 16 won't come fast enough, it will be forever until your finally 18 and out of high school it's like impossible to wait for each big milestone. Then suddenly one day you will think back and wonder where did the time go. These years literally drag and fly by at the same time. Enjoy your firsts. By that I mean every new thing, make a mental note to enjoy your firsts and realize this is the only time you have to be young and discover who you are and who you want to be. Build good friendships by being a good friend even when it's hard and don't ever let a boy define your self worth or your ultimate joy. They will love you and hurt you but know regardless you are happy being you with or with out them. Best of luck to you :)

I'm turning 15 on October 29th which is a Thursday. Then Halloween is two days after my birthday so my party would not be that weekend. I'm thinking the weekend before either Friday after school or that Saturday. Anyways I live in Colorado so the weather can change fast. Plus I really don't know what to do at all. I don't want to spend much either.

My house is a little too small for 15 girls too, so a sleepover is out of the question. I really am just out of fun ideas to do. My mom doesn't want to do a big party until my 16th so this one is "big", but then again not really. So can you help me think of ideas of what to do? Thank you!

Any ideas of what unique party idea I could do?

Answers

October 10, 20150 found this helpful

You may receive more suggestions if you were to include a couple of things you're into or subjects you get excited about. Please DO NOT post anything too personal. Perhaps list your favorite school subject, type/genre of books, movies, music you most enjoy; or give a small example of what you would consider your perfect day.
Hopefully, this will help generate some really great ideas that you can use some or all of then go from there.
Wishing you the best

If it were me I would consider a glow in the dark party. They sell all kind of really cool accessories now that are glow in the dark and you could get a black light. If you get some white poster paper you can hang it on the walls and everyone can draw, color, write you happy birthday messages or whatever and you can save it later in a scrapbook. You could have some cool music and some food, get dry ice for punch in an actual punch bowl and it will smoke that looks cool. There are a lot of neat ideas plus you will all have fun coming dressed in an outfit that is neon or glow in the dark.

Since it is your birthday, the day should be about the things you like to do. Would it be possible to plan a family outing to someplace that you would like to go, like to a science center or to a special movie? If you just want to have something special at home, how about a family game night?

Find some favorite games, plan a nice supper, and then spend the evening together having a monopoly marathon or Clue or Trivial Pursuit. Or, you might have a family movie marathon. If cost is a factor, you can usually borrow games and movies from your library. Maybe your family likes to do jigsaws? There are always very inexpensive ones at the thrift stores. For the birthday supper, how about pizza, or a hot dog roast in the back yard? Maybe your siblings can be in charge of baking the birthday cake for you. Whatever you decide, think about creating a nice family evening while all of you are together at home. It will not be long before you are moving out and on your own, and a family party will be a great memory.

Hi! Ask your friends what their favorite music is and see if you can play it at your B-Day party. Do you guys like to dance? Watch movies? Go hiking? Play video games? You could give your party a theme based on an activity you and all of your friends like to do together. If I were you, I would invite close friends/family (not the whole school) so that it's easier to pick something everyone enjoys. Plus, you wont have to worry about the whole social status quo because it's just you and the people who care about you at the party. Whatever you choose, I hope you have a blast!

How about a Scavenger Hunt? Hide multiples of inexpensive (go to a party store or $1 store for ideas) different items, make different lists of the various items and your friends have to search (if you have a yard or at a park) for the items? It's active and so the guests won't just stand there with their friends. The one with the most items wins some token award or prize. It's fun and interactive with everyone!

Or what about a Birthday Costume Party where friends dress up like their favorite whatever... sports star, celebrity, book character, painting, etc? Costumes let folks ''be someone else" and can be fun. Everyone takes turns guessing who they are and the winner gets some small token prize or award. Or you can award 'prizes' for funniest, most original, best of show, etc.

What do you like? What is your passion? Make the party about you, because it is your birthday!

Do you like music? Search Google for music-theme parties. Get your favorite music playing and make your living room into a "night club" atmosphere. Have someone serving mixed "drinks" (no alcohol of course) served up in fancy glasses. Play a few games like statue where you freeze in a statue pose when the music stops. Or put on a music video and dance along. If you have Dance Dance the video game do that.

Do you like animals? Call up the local shelter and ask if you can meet there with your friends and volunteer for an hour, then go to an ice cream place afterwards and talk about your experiences there.

Do you like shopping? Plan a trip to a local thrift store. Instead of a gift for you, tell each person to bring $10 or $15 if they can and they have 1/2 hour to shop and put together a fab outfit. Then go home and have a fashion show, award prizes for cutest, funniest, most for the money, most colorful etc. outfits and eat cake and ice cream.

Do you like sports? Plan your party for a local park, bring balls for playing soccer, dodgeball, badmitton if you have one of those sets, etc. Everybody have a picnic after. If it rains, have it at your house and play finger soccer on a table instead, buy one of those inexpensive indoor basket ball hoops and have an inside game or bat balloons around. Or you could have an obstacle course inside your house like crawling under a table, jumping from cushion to cushion on the floor, etc.

There is nothing like music and food, though, to make for a good party. Do not underestimate everyone just coming to your place and hanging out, chatting, listening to music and eating and drinking some delicious fare that you love!

Invite people that you enjoy spending time with anyway, and you will have a good time. Remember to keep it drama-free and serve birthday cake so everyone knows it is a birthday party!

Happy Birthday! Make some new friends to share it with. Could you possibly make your own cake or cupcakes and take it to a nursing home, or senior center, or library during kids reading time? Share it with them and make new friends in the process. I would call ahead first to see if that will work and what time would be best.

If you plan on inviting mainly boys, you might want to think about going to someplace like Speedzone Cafe. It's freaking awesome you can race in "cart" thingos, just tie your hair if it's long. (Don't want it to get sucked up by the engine on your B-Day!)

And there's also a huge-o arcade and there's a little kiddy track for 'kids' (no durr) The arcade is full of cool games and I'm sure there's at least 1 in there that you've never seen before (like the giant Fruit Ninja game). But it depends on where you live just do a bit of research, you'll find a place.

For my friend one year I made her a "sponge cake". How I made it was I bought 3 kitchen sponges... just plain ones. Next I trimmed around the edges, so I now have three circles. Then I put icing on them like I was decorating a real cake. I added sprinkles and other small candies. I gave it to my friend, who thought it was real. We just laugh about it, cause at the time she was trying to lose weight. She thanked me. With best friends we pull jokes on each other and then just laugh about it.

In the beginning I had a problem deciding what to do for my 15th birthday. Then I started thinking up stuff like having a hotel slumber for your friends and eating at a restaurant. My second option was going out for breakfast or lunch with some friends and maybe my mom. Later on going to get my nails and feet done, and some shopping. And maybe the movies. My last option was having a co-ed party at a cocktail place. Girls will be wearing cocktail dresses and boys wear a tux. That was my idea. Any suggestions?

They all sound expensive to me. Since you are asking on a site called Thrifty Fun, I would think that you might want to think of something less costly like a home spa day with your girlfriends or a co-ed party with music and dancing and pizza in your basement. This is your birthday, and you want it to be fun, but you are going to have a birthday every year for the rest of your life. It isn't your wedding that you are planning! The amount of fun people have is not equal to the amount of money your parents have to spend on the party.
