Some comes off by just peeling. You may need to steam the samples. That glue is usually on pretty good. Have you checked the care instructions? If it's not dry clean only, you could try goo gone or some other dissolvant that is safe for fabrics followed by a good washing. Good luck! I'm interested to know of any other ideas!

I would make a tub of warm water and a little soap and soak the fabric sample in the soapy water. You can also try Folex on it. Test the Folex on a sample you don't like so much.

I would put a butter knife between the card and fabric and try to pry it off. Soak fabric in water to remove the rest.

I would try GOO GONE I have used it for years. It removes stickers, Grease, gum, tar, crayon, sticky tape, lipstick and make-up, just to name a few.

Soak the fabric overnight and try peeling it off.You can stitch over the paper to cover.

I know several "crafters" who just love these fabric sample books but they say they have tried almost everything and even with hard scrubbing some of this glue hangs on. Some fabrics - mostly cottons - can be soaked to remove the paper but the glue remains and is an even bigger mess than it was before removing the paper.

Most of my friends say they just cut the paper/glue off (either on one end or all the way around) the piece and plan to use it in the left over size. Some of these samples have beautiful designs of flowers, animals, frogs, trees, food, etc and they use these to accent a plain pieces of fabric (like a center piece) and some even make special greeting cards with one of these as the front (glued on). There are lots of ways to use all sizes and you may want to consider whether it is really worth all the trouble to save that edge covered by paper and glue.

I have been given a ton of beautiful upholstery fabric sample books, but they have paper backing around the edges of the fabric.
