I have been out of work for 3 months now and I have no income. I would really like to give my boyfriend of 10 years something spiritually special for Christmas. Or I would like to do something very meaningful for him. Please help, he has been so good to me.

Especially since you want to give him something spiritual for Christmas I think the best gift you can give is sharing what Christmas is truly all about. It's not about 'things' but rather about love, sharing of self/selves and reaching out to others. Being that you've been out of work perhaps you can make a creative meal for the two of you and maybe even make a bit extra and ask a neighbor or former co-worker who is also out of work who might not be Blessed enough to have a significant other to share in this special Holiday.
Do you live together? If not, you could clean his home for him...if you live together, try a really good back rub...very thoughtful, and won't cost you anything but time and love.
I am new to this, but I have a question, and I need help as soon as possible! I am 16. My childhood best friend of all time asked me out on Wednesday and I was planning to get him something for our one week anniversary next Wednesday. This is also our last day before Christmas break. So this gift is doubling as a Christmas gift and a first week anniversary gift. I've already gotten him a blanket he has hinted he wants.

If you are unsure these are things you can easily ask him without tipping him off on what type of gift your thinking of getting. If you dont have a lot of money maybe you could make a scrapbook of pictures of you guys together doing things at places you have been. If its done nicely and presented properly sometimes a handmade gift can mean more to a person than just some trinket you can buy anywhere.

If you are anywhere near a Cabella's, go there and look around. You can ask the clerks there for help; it is a treasurehouse for people who hunt and fish. If you are not, maybe buy some fishhooks (as I have never heard of a person who fished a lot who had too many), but see if you can get advice from someone else who fishes in your area, so that you get ones that are favorites.

A gift certificate for something like Amazon or iTunes isn't a bad idea. Food is a good idea, too...does he like cake or something? Cookies? Do you like to bake? If not, there are bakery items everywhere this time of year. Maybe pay a friend or neighbor to cook up something special if you're not a cook.

I'm not sure what to get my boyfriend for Christmas. By then we will have been together for just over four months. We're both 14 (although I'll be 15 by Christmas) and we've been great friends for three years. He's been asking me out since we met, but we've only been together three months.
I know he loves video games, country music (especially Joe Nichols) and movies. I'm getting him COD Advanced Warfare, and maybe a dog tag with something special engraved in it. I would love it if someone could give me some great gift ideas that would have a lot of sentimental value, but aren't too expensive. Maybe something original? Not something like cologne or a watch. A nice photo of you is great. You can put it in a homemade frame and wrap it nice. Or, give him one of each of you as a kid in a double frame. Ask his parents for a shot of him that is just right to match yours. You can write something on the bottom like "Friends are the best" or something cute. I hope this helps.

At your age, I wouldn't get anything too personal just yet. Maybe a CD of his favorite group or a small basket with his favorite candy of sweet.

I have only been with my boyfriend for a month and I love him dearly. I already gave him his gift, which was really hard to think of. I gave him chocolate because I know he loves brownies. If you really are stuck for a gift/surprise, it comes from the heart. You are is girlfriend and know on else know what he likes, only you do.

For one anniversary, I gave my husband some type of "recipe for love" jar. I bought the jar online and I could add little trinkets. But it's easy to just make your own! I would say that it depends on how serious things are and what his hobbies are. A shirt or jacket for his favorite sport (hunting, skiing, whatever) is always safe.
If you are closer than that, try something more personal along with it. Coupon cards are fun. Things like a night out with the boys or a home-cooked dinner or a complaint-free ball game show you care. Just don't make a coupon for anything that you don't want his friends to see!
In general, all most 15 year old boys want is a 16 year old girl so you're already ahead of the game. As long as it's from the heart he'll love it.

If you have only been dating a month, a major gift is not needed. Something small is quite in order. And if you have no idea of his likes other than video games, it doesn't seem to me that you know him very well. However, if he is giving something to you, I can see why you would like to also give a gift.
In my experience with sons, boys like to get gifts like chocolates. Movie passes might be a good gift, or a gift card from a gaming store. A DVD that you could watch together would be great, or how about a "movie night in a bag", with the DVD, popcorn or chips, a couple of cans of pop, and maybe some other treats that you like.

For years I had the same problem knowing what to get for my 20 something year old nephews and my 30 something year old son-in-law. Finally I hit on something they've all seem to appreciate. I give them gift cards to either Best Buy or iTunes or my son-in-law Lowes or Home Depot. I've always attached the gift cards to their favorite candy or snack. This year it is a Visa Gift Card from my Credit Union, which only charges a dollar fee. I figure they can shop where they wish, get gas, food, or anything. Also another idea is a GC from Amazon. Not very personal, but very practical in these days of bad economy.
