Identifying Little Black Biting Bugs?

February 28, 2017

A picture of little black bugs.I had little bugs crawling on me, in my hair and in my clothes. I kept finding black specks that didn't move. I would notice glitter on my face in the sun light. I didn't realize this was scabies. I washed, sprayed and bombed; nothing seemed to work. Unfortunately, I gave scabies to my friend. She told me the only way to get rid of these bugs was to get ivermectin.

My tip is if you are having little black specks and feeling like something is crawling all over your body, see your doctor and have them to prescribe ivermectin. :)

I moved into this apartment a year ago. I've had no problems until now. I live in the southeast part of Alabama. Recently, I started getting bites all over my body, from the living room, bathroom and bedroom. The bites occur night and day all the time, they are worse when I'm lying down.

I started noticing yellow like eggs then black specks occurred throughout the apartment. I can't tell when they move until the bites occur. They don't jump and are very slow movers. People tell me I'm phobic of bugs and I'm just imagining
cvy them. I'm going crazy.

I agree that you should discuss this problem with your landlord first as there could be other residents with the same problem.
This could be one of several insects but since you seem to have bites in all areas of your apartment and bites in all areas of your body it does seem like you need help identifying this bug so you can use the right method to remove them - permanently.

Some mystery bites can be no-see-ums or mites.

To ask for help you will need photos of anything relating to these bites - pictures of bugs (close ups), pictures of yellow eggs and black specks, pictures of bites.
You can send this information to your county extension agency and they should be able to help you - quickly.

You and any other tenants who are having issues (if others are too) need to work with your landlord to have the spaces treated quickly and thoroughly.

WebMd has a bug bite identifier, which may help you gather more information just for yourself because you need to worry about your health in the meantime: www.webmd.com/.../slideshow-bad-bugs

If any of the bites are hot or warm/pink be sure to seek medical help because you could have an infection.

Post back with an update. Prayers for easy solutions.

So, if you look at the picture you will see this tiny tiny tiny black spec on the middle of my fingertip. They look like pieces of pepper, but smaller! Click on the photo and enlarge it, what the hell is it? I've been seeing these specs all over myself and I draw circles around them with a red felt tip pen.

They itch! Omg they itch and I can feel them crawling all over my skin when I sleep, in little trailing circles that drive me mad! It takes me an hour to get to sleep with tiny itch after tiny itch, it's exhausting! Please help! They are so small, I don't know what to do!

This looks like a no-see-ums bug and they are horrible. We have them here and they are so hard to get rid of. They can live in the sand, around your home and they mostly come out at night or when the sun is starting to go down. Here we use mint oil if we live in an area with tons of them around. The mint oil will stop them from crawling on you and hitting you. The oil on the skin makes it hard for them to bit you so we use a lot of oil during the evening hours.

If you have been bitten and are itching a lot try to use some apple cider vinegar and soak in this. This will reduce the swelling and take the itching out of the bites. We do spray around here but when it rains again they seem to come back. This is normal because I live in the tropics.

I have had a problem with something biting on my feet and legs in my office off and on for 3 years. We have tried shampooing, pesticides, bug bombs, etc. We now sleep in our living room because they have taken over our room. My hair was down to my butt, now, less than 3 months later my hair is 1/4 inch long.

They are black triangle shaped bugs that bite just my dog and I. My doctor told me there are no bugs and for me to make appointment with mental health. I'm tired of being shrugged off by the medical community. I already have health problems and am getting worse. I need help fast. I live in Colorado. It's not scabies, but they are like mites and horribly itchy

This looks like a flea. It is sort of hard to tell because it has been smashed or killed. But when I check out different flea images I do find this one listed.

I think they are mites. Try to catch it, examine it with a magnifying glass and describe if it is too small and you cannot take a photo: approximate size, special characteristics.

To get rid of mites, remove clutter from your house. In fact, mites can be found virtually anywhere.
After you declutter, disinfect the area to kill the mites and keep them away.
Clean every week, and don't forget the couch, blinds and carpets. Vacuum as often as you can this alone gets rid of many mites.
Cover your bed, mattress and pillow with dust-proof covers.
Wash sheets and bedding every 1-2 weeks, in 130-140 degree hot water.

I need someone's help. So I've seen really small animals crawling on my skin and my partner's skin. I've been waking up with bites and red itchy bumps. At first I thought it was bed bugs and threw my mattress away.

I have been sleeping on the couch. I put bed bug tapes near me, but haven't seen anything. Am I going crazy? I've also seen them on my phone screen. I wanna think it is dust mites.

For a while, I've been getting a bunch of bites all over my body and they itch a lot. I think I have over 50 now. I searched through my bed and found tiny black dot looking bugs. When I crushed it blood came out. What are they? Bed bugs, fleas? I also have a cat and he had fleas.

I've suffered in all aspects- mostly now mentally I suppose, for over a year from bug bites that hurt, itch, more than anything I've ever felt. I've also been "stung, bitten," to extremes where I sweat in pain, and scream! They are teeny, and burrow in my skin. They look black mostly, and the sores eventually become huge, thick ugly scabs- that is if I don't dig them out due to pain or uncontrollable itching.

I've tried everything! I've been to 3 dermatologists. The one I'm staying with, tried pills to work internally. No such luck! I use 1 pill for night itching, as nights seem worse, as do outdoor bites. I am afraid to go out, but I force myself. I hate looking at my once clear skin. So showers are very stressful. I'm afraid of them honestly. I close my eyes. I actually met another woman who had a mild case on the back of her legs. She found green tea ointments, Cetaphil hand/body soap, Cetaphil lotion, and green tea leave in moisturizer-meant for hair-made by Green Tree, all help. I believe "they" despise green tea wipes, gels, anything, and many times all the black things eventually come out of sores. I even use green tea shampoo & conditioner. I keep my long hair pulled up mostly.

It's a full-time, ridiculously stressful job, putting on 10 ointments, over counter non-drowsy allergy pills, washing and conditioning my hair with Green Tea hair products, lotions, changing my clothes 2-3 times daily, always after a shower! I used to bag all clothes from the dryer, but getting dressed took an hour, and truly I don't notice a difference. I've been told - no dryer sheets or liquid softener. I use Lysol liquid made to add to laundry soap. I do have a very very low immune system, and think my hours of gardening when my dad was dying, is where I may have contracted "them" originally. I was often on my bare knees, no gloves, etc. for years. Now I fear the bites, stings, even venturing outdoors.

My dermatologist is going to do a biopsy if "counseling" doesn't help. At least he's not cruel, and he does care. How much of my story, wondering, sounds like "U"- anyone? Has anyone been successful totally or on their way to a cure? This has destroyed my entire self - stolen my identity, depressed me to very low places, and then life's problems, blessings, are super hard to be present! Thank you to anyone, and I surely understand this "disease" as scary, awful, for all.

The tiny black spec is some kind of a bug. I have been finding them crawling on my skin randomly only when I'm at work. Can someone help identify this? They don't bite. At least not that I'm aware of.

You do not say what type of work you do but undoubtedly these bugs are from your work area. Id you have potted plants in your work area that may be a source of 'home base' for these bugs.
If you're in a 'food supply/serving/cooking' the packages food may be their home base.
You will have to discuss this with your manager/co-workers to try and find where the base starts as this is where you have to eliminate their source of food.

What is this tiny bug? I can't include a picture because they are too small to see through camera. They are tan in color and have two long antennae. Their legs are not visible. They almost look like eraser shavings walking around. Whenever I try to squish one, it jumps somewhere else. Or maybe it doesn't jump and it's because it has a hard shell so that it is almost flicked somewhere else in a way.

I've never seen them before. Today though I've seen 3. One on my keyboard and two on my desk. There is a lot of dust in my room which may be why. Today was hotter than normal days (100 F) and quite humid. Maybe the temperature is why they're here. Just asking if anyone has experience with these bugs, know what they are, and if they are bad/can harm me. Thank you!

I know they can not harm you, but they can bite you. They are like a flea and are a no see-em or even a sand flea that jumps around. They do bite and the bite is horrible and leaves a large red mark on the skin because they nip the skin and when this happens it swells up and gets water where the bug has bitten you. They are horrible to kill and we have them here on the islands. We do spray for them but they seem to never die and come back all the time. During our warmer months of the year, they are worse than the other times of the year here.

We spent a week in an apartment in Paris where I woke up almost every morning with very itchy bites - definitely not bedbugs. I finally found mostly dead little black bugs, no wings, about 1/4 inch in length, on the white tile floor near an outlet. They were renovating the apartment next door, and my theory is that they sprayed, and these bugs came through an outlet in the very old building. But what were they? I put them in a sealed plastic bag and gave them to the owner, but she has had no luck in identifying them. I would love to be the one who is able to identify them for her.

Thank you...someone!

Does anyone have small black bugs hiding in fuzz or cat hair? I have long hair and they find it on the floor. Twice I have found one in my hair. They have 2 or 3 hairs on them that comes out if you put water on them. They also stand on 2 long legs. I have lived here many years and have never seen them until lately. I hope someone answers before they drive me nuts. Thanks.

Since you mention they are on/in hair, fuzz or cat fur and you can see the details about this mysterious bug perhaps you could place one or more of them in a jar and take them to your local health department for identification for serious evaluation of a problem I doubt any of us here have dealt with. My guess is that they are miniature dust bunnies. Good Luck!

My husband was bitten in bed and thought it was a flea, but I saw a bug that I assume was the one that bit him and it wasn't a flea. It was small about a pin head maybe bigger and it smushed when I killed it.

It left a bite that looked like a mosquito bite. Any ideas? It is black and oval shaped?

I just need some advice, we've had small black bugs outside that jump, but don't fly the past week. We ain't sure what they are or if it's the weather? We've been bitten a few times and not sure if that's the bugs? Every time I or my dog goes outside they are attached to my trousers or socks and his fur. It seems to happen when we go in the garden. Identifying Tiny Black Biting Bugs - long thin black bug

I couldn't see any bugs when I came downstairs this morning, nothing in the water dishes.

I let the dog outside and he brought some in and I've seen some on my socks. I can't find any nests anywhere. They just appear out of nowhere, if it wasn't for the house being clean and my dog being white it would be hard to notice these. Would you know what they are or how to deal with them?
