Victoria University gave out free laptops in 2015. I am not sure if they still do. You can always ask the financial aid office of the school you choose to attend.

I, too, am a full time college student that is not working. At the college that I attend, I am allowed to request funds from my financial aid in order to purchase things for my education.
I am kindly writing to ask if there is an organisation that can offer me one for free. It doesn't matter even if it's second hand, but it must be a laptop because I really need one for school. I need it so I can finish MU schooling. My parents kicked me out and I barely have enough for rent so I definitely can't afford a laptop.

Hi - glad you are in school. One of my friend's sons could not afford a laptop but applied for student loans and bought it with some of these funds. Of course you have to pay back the money later but that is the only option many people have.
I have no idea where you live (US or?) but you should go to your school bulletin boards and check with the school office for help and suggestions. Your local churches may also have some suggestions.

I found myself in a similar situation in need of a laptop. I browsed the laptop being offered for $50 or less on offer up. And. Was able to get an older laptop that worked fine for my needs for $20..

Depending on size of city where you live, if larger, call city hall and ask if they know of such community services finding such for people of limited income.
Also put ad/notice on school bulletin board. There has got to be a few students wanting to rid themselves of old to them computers.

Contact the IT department at your school. They will have access to many that are used. Tell them your situation and provide proof that you are a student at their facility. My University provided me one that way. Also, try sending out an email campus wide. Allot of students from overseas that are graduating do not want to pay the extra baggage fee on the plane to transport a laptop home. Especially, if they have one at home and are already at their carry-on and 1 suitcase limit. If you call your community thrift stores personally and show them your student I.d.
