Baby Shower Decorating Ideas

Baby Shower Decorating Ideas Instead of the traditional "decorate the mommy to be's chair," I decided to decorate a whole table for the Mommy and Daddy to be. First, we made a balloon archway above the table. I covered the table with a pretty tablecloth with Baby written all over it.

I added one framed 5x7 inch photo of each of the parents to be when they were babies. Each of them had a rubber ducky picture on them as well, since that was the theme. I added two 8x10 inch printed and framed scrapbook pages each with a picture of the mommy and daddy as babies individually with cute sayings like "Natalie's Mommy and Daddy when they were babies" and "Natalie Marie's Mommy and Daddy."

I added a yellow ducky bucket filled with pink flowers to the center to add color. Yellow and white streamers twisted around the top of the table. Then added homemade vases with pink flowers in them on the corners of the table for more color. On the front part of the tablecloth where it hangs down there was a 8 1/2 x 11 inch sonogram picture of the baby with the saying "All of God's grace in one precious face" Also a Daddy and Mommy to be sign in front of their respective seats.

Two more scrap book pages were added one on each side of the Daddy and Mommy to be signs. On one pillar I printed out the funniest pictures of the parents to be together, (as adults) that I could find. One after they had a mudfight and both were covered in mud. Another I took this past Thanksgiving where they both had "grills" in their mouths, trying to act "gangsta" but in a very goofy way. On that one, I wrote "Are you serious? This is my Mommy and Daddy?" This one was too cute!

The other pillar had a scrapbook page of both parents when they were babies. We also arranged the guest tables in a large U shape facing the parents to be table. It turned out quite nice and was something different. Everyone seemed to like it.

Reuseable Decorations for Baby Shower

Decorating the 2 chairs for the Mommy and Daddy to be. Unlike most decorations that are crepe paper and bows that get thrown away after a shower, Why not decorate with new and usable Baby items!

I decorated each chair with one, a blue fleece baby blanket, draping it triangular over the chair and tying the top with blue ribbon, and using a blue bib, That says "I Love My Daddy" on it, And the exact same for the Mommy's chair with a pink fleece blanket, pink ribbon and a pink bib saying "I Love My Mommy". It looked beautiful, and each item was reusable for the new baby. Reuseable Decorations for Baby Shower Reusable Baby Shower Decorations

Upscale Baby Shower Food and Decoration Ideas

I'll be giving my sister in-law a baby shower in three weeks. I've given a few in the past but never to someone as "picky" as she is. I can give her a nice shower but I would like it to be extra special since we've had to talk her into the whole baby shower thing in the first place. If any of you fine readers have some upscale ideas for food (shower will be at 3PM on a Saturday), please post. And any unusual decoration ideas would be welcomed as well. Thank you in advance!

I made this wreath to take to the hospital to hang on the door after the baby was born. Everyone always wonders what the person next door had..this lets them know.
