| Use Hanging Metal Shelves to Organize the Garage
My wife convinced me to remove the clutter in our garage with more stuff - large metal/wire shelves that hang high enough not to hit cars, but sit low enough to store plenty of boxes and other must have seasonal possessions. They look nice too considering it's just a garage.

| Use Spice Rack to Organize Nuts and Bolts
I was helping my husband organize his new tool shed, and just didn't know where to put all the different sizes of nuts, bolts, screws, etc. I figured it was time for another plastic container, but they just get overlooked and purchased again.

| Use Pill Bottles To Store Seasonal Hardware
When putting away seasonal things that contain loose screws, bolts, etc., take an empty safety capped pill bottle to store them in, label and then select a drawer or empty tool box/container to keep them in. You will always know where they are.

| Stop Light For Garage
This tip is for people like myself that runs into the wall of the garage. I've tried the tennis ball thing and didn't work for me. So, my husband bought this "traffic light" looking wall unit that plugs into the wall. It looks just like a traffic light that has "red on top", "yellow in middle" and "green on the bottom".

| Wooden Bikerack

I made a simple but useful 2 bikeracks out of a 2X4 and some screws (it helps to have a miter saw). I made an L bracket out of the 2X4 and secured it to a stud in the garage.

By Tawra Kellam

It seems like organizing your garage can be a never ending task. Lots of companies make millions of dollars selling all kinds of storage systems to try to make your garage just a little bit more organized. OK I'm about to confess -- We've had this problem, too! I know, it's hard to believe, isn't it?

I have several very long extension cords for my hedge clipper and other outdoor tools. Any ThriftyFun ideas for keeping them unsnarled when stored, but easy to unwind for use?

| Reusing Kitchen Cabinets in the Garage
Instead of spending hundreds on garage organization, I got kitchen cabinets from someone who was updating on freecycle, painted them white to match my garage and lined them up against the walls which already had built in cabinets by previous owner. . .
