I had a very frugal carnival party for a 6 year old. All the games were made from items we had on hand. Prizes came from Freecycle but you could do the same for a very little more expense by purchasing from Oriental Trading (or the Dollar Store).

For children's birthday parties, buy small toys, stickers, candy and crepe paper streamers. Wrap the toys in the streamers one at a time creating a ball. You can make it as big or small as you like.

| Craft: Character Popcorn Holders and Party Hats

 These are made from a triangle shape template and reusing McDonald's large fries containers. Print your image onto plain paper or card stock and cut out with template. Cover by using glue or staples. Use as popcorn holders or party hats. Ideal for any theme parties. Kids will love making them!

If you are doing a kids fire fighter theme party use new plastic fire helmets to hold popcorn, chips etc. Makes cute decor, useful and can be washed out when done and given to kids.

| Make a Bear at Home

 For my daughters 6th birthday, she wanted to take her little friends to BUILD A BEAR WORKSHOP. That's way out of my price range! So while I was shopping for things to do for her party, I was in JoAnn Fabrics and I saw Make a Bear kits.

| Football Players for 5 Year Olds Party

For our son's 5th birthday party we asked two high school football players to come to the party dressed in their uniforms including their shoulder pads, knee pads, and other protective gear. They ran the children through some drills and then demonstrated some maneuvers (including defensive blocking)...

I am planning my daughter's 3rd Birthday and she loves dipping. I wanted to come up with a food dipping theme but I am not sure what the meal should consist of. I am doing a Dora The Explorer Theme as well.
