I have a 11 year old tabby cat (tuxedo black and white) that now lives with my parents. For the past few months he has been barely eating. He's lost a lot of weight that when you pet him he is mostly bones. We have tried different foods, to not much avail.
I have started using the plastic tops from coffee cans for pet dishes. The animals love them because their food is very accessible and I like them because they are very easy to wash.
When cooking a full chicken, hen, or turkey, remove the insides and save. Later when you have time, boil and save in fridge as a treat for your pet. Not too many people eat the heart, liver and kidneys anyway but your pets will.
These are 10 oz. containers with recloseable lids. They are dishwasher safe and can be sanitized. I find they are a perfect size for individual meat and gravy servings. Also, meatballs and sauce.
I keep a poly/cotton washable place mat under my dogs bowl to keep the floor clean where she eats and drinks. She tends to flick food out of her bowl when she eats, this way I can wash the place mat and replace it with a clean one instead of scrubbing the floor around the dog bowl all the time. You can usually find washable place mats in a dollar store.
When cookout season is over you most likely will find condiments and hot dogs marked down so it is definitely time to stock up! My cat (Omen) LOVES me to slice her a hot dog into her dish for a snack ! The cost of kitty treats is near $3 for a small pouch vs. a pack of hot dogs for 79 cents!
This is a bowl server my husband made for our Dalmatian Dottie. I've seen the server in magazines and stores for up to $40.00. Out if scrap materials, my husband made this bowl server for about $5.00 dollars.
