I made a potty pad for house training out of a square of an old vinyl table cloth. I put it on the floor and put junk mail flyers or old school papers on it. The dog goes on it as well as the expensive pads.
I got a new puppy over the weekend. I love it so much but, there are problems. My family and I are not able to train it because it goes outside and pees but then he comes back inside and pees. What should I do?
After completing the basic pet training course at Petsmart, the most effective tool I came away with is to use a Squirt/Spray Bottle to stop a dogs barking. Simply spray your dog in the face or better yet, the hind quarters, the rear end. It is useful to help stop other unwanted behaviors if you use it while the dog is in the act.
Cheap dog toy also provides an IQ challenge. Put a piece of dog biscuit or a treat in a Propel water bottle (with no cap and the plastic retainer ring removed).
Proper socialization is one of the key factors in raising a well-behaved puppy. By meeting all types of dogs in all types of situations, your puppy will be well-adjusted and will learn that they should not bite hard.
This woman is almost the perfect dog trainer. She's on the show "It's Me or the Dog" on Animal Planet. If you watch it you will be impressed. She's completely positive, humane and on the dog's side. She trains the humans and scolds them for not doing what they're supposed to. For anyone who is having any dog issues, this is her site:
When we get a puppy we start out with lots of love and affection. We get a nice size box and put a clock that ticks (sounds like a heart), a cuddly blanket and a hot water bottle which we place under the blanket.
I have cats that keep getting my kitchen table and chairs. I have used a bottle of water to spray them and they have not learned yet. Any ideas for this? I can't afford to spend a lot! Thanks.
