Homemade Potty Pad for House Training
I made a potty pad for house training out of a square of an old vinyl table cloth. I put it on the floor and put junk mail flyers or old school papers on it. The dog goes on it as well as the expensive pads.

Dog Obedience Advice: Use a Squirt Bottle
After completing the basic pet training course at Petsmart, the most effective tool I came away with is to use a Squirt/Spray Bottle to stop a dogs barking. Link: "It's Me Or The Dog" Dog Training
This woman is almost the perfect dog trainer. She's on the show "It's Me or the Dog" on Animal Planet. If you watch it you will be impressed. She's completely positive, humane and on the dog's side. She trains the humans and scolds them for not doing what they're supposed to. For anyone who is having any dog issues, this is her site:

Puppy Training
When we get a puppy we start out with lots of love and affection. We get a nice size box and put a clock that ticks (sounds like a heart), a cuddly blanket and a hot water bottle which we place under the blanket.
