I'm looking for either the figurines, or a cake topper of the Jamie Lynn Anderson theme of "Today I Marry My Best Friend" I was told that those items are discontinued. I have got ahold of the guest book, pin and pin holder. I wouldn't mind a large 8x10 photo album with that theme as well.
I've decorated cakes for over 25 years and there are a few designs that even a beginner can learn and save money on cake decorating for special occasions. Make a batch of icing and experiment on an inverted cake pan or cardboard box until you've achieved the results you like.
Dollar Tree stores carry a lot of wedding items in early spring to June. Many times you can find a base with lace on it from Wilton. Cut a ball of styrofoam in half and hot glue onto base. Clip artificial flowers short and arrange on the foam base.Make a small bow and let the end hang longer to sort of drape over the side of the base.Maybe net behind the flowers. This would probably cost $20- $30 if store bought. OR you can use a small pringle or crisco lid and glue lace around the side.You can also find leaves,bells arches etc from Wilton at Dollar Trees. I am a cake decorator. This cake is my favorite cake and it was a huge hit.. This was for an engagement party. I am doing the wedding cake, but bigger and more elaborate.
First of all, thank you for everyone that answered my last request. I have another one. Does anyone know where I can find plans/recipes for making your own wedding cake. Or does anyone have any advice? Thanks again, Mary.
