| Wildlife: Fawn
|
This is a picture of a baby deer that we found on our property the other day when we went to pick tomatoes. She was lying right beside the garden fence and she made a little cry, or we would never have known that she was there.

| Wildlife: Canadian Geese
|
Geese go a walking! My Grandson was looking out the window and he saw 4 geese go a walking right down the middle of our street. He counted "one, two, three, four, is there any more?"

| Wildlife: Squirrels

Well, it's almost fall and the courtyard squirrels are reinforcing their nests for winter. It was so cute watching the determination of this little guy.

I was in my kitchen eating lunch when I noticed this guy right outside my window. I love leaf bugs! He was so good and still while I snapped his picture!

| Garden: Purple Coneflower (Echinacea)
|
This bee was on one of my cone flowers. I was afraid he had overdosed on pollen, he was breathing really heavy. I went into the house and when I came back out to check on him, he was gone. I am sure he was the hero of the day in his nest!

| Wildlife: Monarch Butterfly
|
I was surprised to see a Monarch butterfly resting in my front yard at night. It was there for at least 5 hours that I kept checking. During a windy episode, it even moved to the other side of the driveway marker.

This is a swarm of bees on a tree branch behind our house. They looked like they were just in hanging air.

| Wildlife: Fishing Spider

A "fishing spider" I came across yesterday. It was quite large, it is on a 4 inch pole for size reference. Talk about nightmares!

| Wildlife: Starfish in Alaska
|
I just thought people would like to see that starfish come in different colors. I took this picture when I lived in Klawock, Alaska. We were going clamming because there was a minus 13 foot tide.

| Be Careful Not To Damage Spiderwebs
|
We are very careful not to destroy spider webs. The spider spends day and night catching mosquitoes and other flying insects. We don't have enough mosquitoes to feed many spiders because they have been working hard over the past three or four years.
