You can save a lot of money this holiday season by making your own gifts then give them away to family and friends. A home made gift is much more appreciated than something that you purchase from any store.
Most dads have a hobby. With this in mind and a photo of dad, you can turn any old gift bag into a work of art to use as wrapping for his Father's Day gift. Choose a plain gift bag that will reflect your dad's hobby, such as a blue one for fishing or a green one for golf (sample is black and white checks for auto racing).
All year long I look for pretty jars and bottles at flea markets and junk shops for making interesting gifts. I usually don't pay more than $1 for each one, usually a lot less.
I made "gifts in a jar" for family and friends for Christmas and for Birthdays. I have 4 children and each one of them do something to help. It's a family kinda thing for us.
