| Ask for Makeup Samples
I have been feeling a little guilty about spending money on make up with my husband losing his job recently, but I was talking to one of the sales people at my local Ulta and she said do not hesitate to ask for samples and try before I buy.

| Stretch Liquid Makeup With Mineral Oil
I had a small amount of (Cover Girl) liquid makeup in a shade I wanted to use up. I poured into the bottle a small amount of mineral oil, shook it vigorously and that made just enough for one use.

| Throw Away Old Makeup
Even in this tough economy, do not hold on to old make up. Many of us have old cosmetics filling up the shelves of our bathroom. Did you know that with repeated use, bacteria can grow in your make up and that eye make up is most at risk.

| Use Natural Paint Brushes for Applying Makeup
As a founding member of the 'Cheapa-Fillipa' club, I am always looking for ways to beat the price. My latest search started after I recovered from cancer and decided that part of the process to feel better was to look better.

| Frugal Eye Make-Up Remover
A much cheaper alternative for eye make-up remover is to use the 'Johnson and Johnson No Tears' baby shampoo. All you need is a little dab on a wet wash cloth.

| Protect Surface of Pressed Powder Makeup
When using a pressed powder compact which comes with the powder applicator, the top of the powder gets a hardened slick surface on it. This is caused by storing the powder "puff" applicator in the case next to the powder.

After you color in your eyebrows using stencils do you tweeze the remaining? And how do you know which stencils match your face?

| Use Vaseline to Remove Eye Make Up
I use Vaseline to remove my mascara, eye liner and shadow everyday. This works before or after a shower and doesn't sting if you get it in your eyes. Plus, it's very cheap. I've been using the same Vaseline jar for over a year and it was under $3.00.

| Using All Of Your Lipstick
With the high cost of cosmetics, I have discovered a way to use ALL of your lipstick! When the tube gets flat on the top, I use a plastic cuticle tool to dig out the remaining lipstick. I usually have several tubes that are flat at one time. I put the retrieved lipstick into a small plastic container and pop it into the microwave for about 20 seconds or so and it melts down and when cool is a new source of lipstick. I use a lip brush or a Q-tip to put it on. I have done this for years!
