Lavender Plants: Bath, Beauty, and Other Uses (Lavender Soap)
By Patti McKenna
When we think of lavender, we think of the pretty, light purple flowers that blow gently in the breeze, producing a lovely, heady scent. The lavender's scent has been used for many years in bouquets, sachets, and potpourri. Did you know that lavender has many other uses?

Marigolds (Marigold Cleanser)
By Patti McKenna
Marigolds are so much more than the hardy, popular orange and yellow flowers we see in flower beds and boxes during the summer. The petals are a bit spicy and can be used as decoration in salads and are sparingly used in custards to provide a hint of spice.

Oats and Yogurt Face Mask
By Patti McKenna
The next time your face needs a pick-me-up, don't run to the store. Just walk to the kitchen. Oatmeal has two benefits: It absorbs oil and moisturizes skin at the same time! The milk products in the recipe help to smooth and soften skin.

It Can Be Cheaper to Grocery Shop Daily
By Patti McKenna
Through the years, I've read at least one hundred different articles with tips and tricks on how to cut your grocery bill. With a large family, I've followed most of the advice at one time or another. I've cut coupons, browsed through sales flyers, etc. One piece of advice that doesn't work for me is to planning a week's worth of meals and shop only once a week.

Turn Fresh Tomatoes Into Quick & Easy Dinners
By Patti McKenna
Most of us know that planting a garden is one of the cheapest ways to provide your family with fresh vegetables. My husband is the chief gardener in our household, and since it is his domain, he gets to decide what to plant. Let me tell you right away that he loves fresh tomatoes. I, on the other hand, hate tomatoes and have not eaten a raw tomato in over thirty years.

Quick Breakfasts for Busy Moms
By Patti McKenna
About twelve years ago, I was on a mission to find the easiest and most convenient way to satisfy my children's hungry appetites. At that time, my fourth child was born, and she was only 15 months younger than the next in line. I had a newborn, a toddler, a five year old, and a nine year old.
