| My Frugal Life - Thrifty Disabled Senior
I am a disabled senior trying to live as frugally as I can, considering Social Security isn't anything to brag about. I get around in a motorized wheel chair. Our state has a law that seniors and disabled do not need to pay bus fair on our city buses.

| My Frugal Life: Saving on Electricity
I started being conscious of energy use via lighting in the 70's. The first thing I did was train my 2 children to turn off the lights when they weren't using them. I began buying task lighting for them, and unscrewed the huge incandescents in the house.

| My Frugal Life: Recession? What Recession?
It is almost funny to us, to hear these people on the news talking about the recession and how they are losing their homes and can't buy the things they want anymore. I just don't have the sympathy for them I guess.

| My Frugal Life: Starting With Sewing
My husband and I have 6 children, (so far) Kriztina 18, Chriztopher 16, Lyndzie 13, Jacob and Joshua 4 1/2, and Matthew 19 months. Frugality for us started about 14 years ago. I would say I started out with sewing.

When I started dating my husband, I couldn't believe my eyes the first time I went inside his parent's one bedroom house. There were 6 people in the family, all of the rooms were tiny.

| My Frugal Life: Stretching Dollars
Being frugal has always been part of my life. My Mom had a chronic illness and had to stay at home. Our family lived on what my father made at a non-union factory job. We definitely used it up, wore it out or did without.

| My Frugal Life: Consider Crafting for Christmas
For many years we had to live like lots of Americans, payday to payday. But December of 1977 was the worst. Everything hit that month and we ended up with only 5 dollars in our pocket with just 3 days left before Christmas.

| My Frugal Life: Use Your Interests To Make Money
As time goes by, I learn that there are many ways to stretch our money and reuse various left over products. I purchase many things in thrift store and buy wholesale when I am in business. I plan to start a silk flower business.

| My Frugal Life: Necessity is Still the Mother of Invention
Frugality has been a necessity for all of my 48 years. Making money stretch as far as possible is what I have always needed to do but I enjoy it because I also believe it is best for my family and my world to consume less, waste less.
