Cruise Control, Not in the Rain
Did you know you should never use your cruise control when driving in the rain or snow? This can be very dangerous because if your tires lose contact with the pavement, your car can hydroplane and may speed up and you will literally fly through the air.

We have several cell phones in the house. We have a frugal and safe routine down. Two of the cell phones we charge in vehicles while we are on the road. That saves us electricity.

Safety Tip: Keep Glass Paper Weights Out of the Sun
Do not put paper weights or snow globes where the sun can reflect off of them. When sun reflects off the paperweight, they become very hot (like a magnifying glass), and they can become hot enough to start a fire.

Identifying Your Bike in Case of Theft
If you purchase a new bike for your child, place their picture inside the handle bar before placing the grips on. If the bike is stolen and later recovered, remove the grip.

Key Locks Differently
I used to want to have all of my door locks to be keyed the same. However I have recently realized, that there are times when I'd like to be able to allow someone into my house, when I am away on vacation for example, or to check on my pets.

They did a segment on TV the other day about how thieves are stealing cars with GPS's. Not only do they have your car but they can program your GPS to take them to right to your home.

Use Safety Straps to Secure Purse While Shopping
Whenever I'm shopping, and shopping carts are available, I "strap" my purse into the child seat. Doing this allows me to shop and not have to worry about my purse being stolen.

Use Care With Fireworks
Parents beware! Teens and tweens love fireworks, but their brains don't comprehend the consequences of their actions. Always have an adult to supervise any fireworks. Kids can think up some crazy things!
