BUYERS BEWARE - Toyspree
"Toyspree.com" this site is definitely a quick get rich scam, there selling all of their inventory for 2 to 3 times there price. My wife won one of there so called, sweepstakes, $500.00 of free merchandise off their site. after finding $500.00 worth of items the Shipping and Handling came to $250 + dollars. An item selling off of A.B.C. distributing sells for $9.95, same item at Toyspree.com sells for $29.95 + around 12.00 S & H. So, in my opinion, this store is out to get rich on unsuspecting people. So watch where you buy. Especially during the holidays. Compare prices first. By Rob

Consumer Awareness - Free AOL Accounts
Recently, myself and several others have had trouble trying to cancel AOL service after starting the "free trial". After giving a confirmation number we were still being billed for service we had cancelled. I haven't received this month's statement yet. I'll keep you posted. Just a heads up.Ignore those "free trial" cd's. Use them to scare birds out of your garden! :) By Aeromama

Break The Chain - Don't Forward "Drug Costs" Email
I received a forwarded email about the cost of prescription drugs last night from a relative. There was a person mentioned in the bottom of the email from a government office so I wrote her and asked if she could verify what was in the email. She told me that it was just something that she had forwarded on and now was considered the source of the information. She receives lots of emails a day about it.

Fishing for your Information
With online banking and payments becoming very common, the crooks are using that against us. For the last year, many spammers are fishing for your banking and PayPal information by using emails. The messages can look just like they come from your bank, credit card company or from PayPal.

Recall of Raw Almonds

There has been a recall of raw almonds due to a potential infection with Salmonella. Eating these almonds raw can cause extreme food poisoning 12-36 hours after eating them. Anyone who purchased raw almonds which are affected by the recall should take them back to the store where they purchased them.

Double Charged at WalMart?

Apparently Wal-Mart double-charged a bunch of customers who shopped there and payed with visa/mc on 3/31/2004. The charges should have been reversed by now, but anyone who shops at Wal-Mart should double check their bill.
