Library Book Sales
Go to your local library when they have book sales. All libraries do it. My Library here in Orlando did it a few weeks ago. I picked up old issues of Food and Wine, Bon Appetite, and Good Housekeeping for 25 cents an issue. A great price for a collection of recipes!

By Robert Short
Have you ever noticed how convenient those giant office super stores are? I mean we all use them. They're on every corner out here in the suburbs of Boston. It's Officethis or Officethat or something like Paperclips, you know, all the major players. Well, I've recently realized that over the past 10 years of prosperity that my small business has been paying a huge premium for this convenience.

Grocery Shopping Tips For Husbands
My tip for making grocery shopping easier. I bring my wife and follow her around while she picks the groceries. I find it to be a lot easier than going by myself.

Buying Out of Season Can Save BIG
I know it is only March, but I am finding HUGE sales on sweaters, since stores want to get in the spring fashion. For those friends or family members I know I will be getting a fall/winter/Christmas/Birthday gift for - I have bought a number of very expensive sweaters for just a few dollars each. I also do this in the fall for picking up spring/summer gifts. Just don't forget to put a tag on them and remember where you hide them. CJS in Maine

Office Store Store Sidewalk Sales
Always make time to peruse a sidewalk sale at an office supply business. You can pick up some terrific sale items at rock bottom prices. Example: an entire ledger sheet notebook, 3-hole punched, for $.50; a large bag of large rubberbands for $.25; and so on. Most people won't stop at an office supply sidewalk sale but there are real bargains to be had. By Ronsan

Gadgets from Home Shopping Shows
We know a couple who are into all those home shopping shows. The husband is as bad as the wife is! They've got a whole kitchen full of gadgets and appliances. One that they got was the "Eggstractor". She said that it's so hard to do, by the time you get thru messing with it, trying to shell the hard boiled eggs, you could have already had them all shelled by hand. She ended up giving it as a gag gift at a white elephant party we were all invited to during Christmas. By Terri H.

Half.com - Discount Books, Video Games and More
Someone wrote in recently about buying used books from Amazon.com. You should also check out Half.com, a division of eBay. You are buying directly from an individual who has listed their item for sale on Half.com. It is NOT an auction-style sale, it is a set price. Check it out at http://www.half.com.

Save Your Grocery Receipts For Future Rebates
Save all your grocery receipts in an envelope for several months instead of just tossing them away. I would find a rebate a week or two after I purchased an item and even if I had the upc I had already tossed the store receipt. So now I keep them just in case a refund or rebate comes along for something I've purchased. By Judy

Canadian Scanner Code
Here in the Great White North life is not always easier. But one area that helps out is the scanner "code". When I go grocery shopping - I check every receipt - every time.
