Homemade Bridesmaid Dresses
I made 4 dresses for my son's wedding for around $20 apiece. Walmart sells a CHEAP pattern and it was a very simple, strapless A line. I hadn't sewn in years but it worked out fine. The secret to making bridesmaid dresses is not to be extravagant about the material you choose. Shoes were from Payless. The cost for each girl about $35.

M&M's for our Wedding Reception
My daughter wants M&M's served at her wedding reception but they are about $4 for one large bag! Fortunately, while I was standing there about to despair, I saw a large bag that had 18 'Fun Size' packages in them. They have just enough in each little packet for one serving and you would NOT get 18 servings out of the regular large bag.

Printed Wedding Invitations
My fiance and I are trying to find ways to cut down the cost of our wedding and are thinking about printing our own invitations. I was wondering if anyone has done this for their own wedding and how the invitations turned out? I don't really want to spend the money on the do-it-yourself kit if it's not worth it.

Framing a Wedding Napkin
When we got married, I put one of our wedding napkins, which were printed with our names, wedding date and designs, into a pretty picture frame to have as a remembrance of our wedding. This, too, can be done for the bride's parents, for in-laws and for other guests.

Charitable Wedding Favor
I STRESSED OUT over wedding favors for our guests when we were getting married. I thought about getting traditional favors, like tiny picture frames (that the men don't care about) and tiny trinket boxes (that men don't care about) and everything else under the sun that would be left behind by the men attending our reception, and of course some women (I'm guilty of that).

Flower Seeds Wedding Favor
For my son's wedding I tied up a mixture of flower seeds in tulle with a ribbon and placed them inside a small bird's nest with a tiny note attached which read:

Music Themed Centerpieces and Favors
My fiance and I are very musical people and we are looking for ways to incorporate our love of music into our wedding. I am looking for ideas of centerpieces or favors.

Wedding Name Badges
We're getting married on Saturday (!) and instead of name places for each person I have made badges, with the name of each guest and an interesting fact about them.

Gift Cards for Wedding Presents
My daughter is getting married in June and I just returned over $100 worth of items that she got as double presents. Considering that, I recommend giving gift cards or money to the bride and groom.
