You can use iron-on interfacing, which comes in white or black, for mending of items with finer fabrics. The interfacing is so light weight that the mend won't show, as it would with regular bonding materials.
I have washed a lot of jerseys in the washing machine. They have not shrunk, but they have lost all their elasticity and fluffiness. Is there any way I can make them wearable again? Thanks for any help.
I bought two pairs of denim shorts recently and after I washed them they became too stiff and scratchy to wear. I looked to see what materials were in them and noticed they contained a fabric called "ramie". So I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to soften them up a bit? Much appreciated.
I purchased a pinstriped suit for my son by Hardy Amies London. I had to wash the pants. The color from the maroon stripe has run and the pants are now destroyed. I was just wondering if there is anything that can be done to save these as the suit is useless without the pants.
My daughter's winter boot zipper broke and we could not find anymore winter boots in our area to fit her. I cut into the edge of the broken zipper and got the metal pull back into the zipper and zipped it back up half way to hold that side together.
There is nothing more frustrating than something needing a zipper fix when the clothing is still wearable. I hate doing zippers in clothing. TADA! Found a fairly inexpensive idea - better than throwing away and buying new.
