When having guests for dinner, be it a holiday or not, we always peel, cook and mash the potatoes the day before the dinner. We put them in either a microwave or oven safe dish, cover and refrigerate.

I have a Christmas package tip to share: My niece, just turned 5, loves to pass out the gifts on Christmas morning at my house. Since she hasn't learned to read yet, I decided I would make it easier for her.

Use Christmas decorated ribbon the length of ceiling to floor or as long as you like. Let the kids paint special clothespins to hang their personal stocking. Hang each stocking along the ribbon. This will also work as a Christmas Card Holder.

My 95 year old Mother found buying and wrapping gifts for her 50 descendants was too big a chore. We took a picture of her on her birthday and printed 50 wallet size photos and bought her Christmas cards and postage stamps. Now we will enjoy sitting with her and helping address the cards. She loved the idea.
