Making Afghans with the Knifty Knitter
I just got a Knifty Knitter round loom set on Saturday, and so far, I've made 2 hats. I'm going to attempt to make a scarf. Is there a way to make an easy afghan with the round loom set? I've been searching all over the internet and I can't find a pattern.

Link: Ladies Book of Knitting - 1886
For all you knitters out there! I just know you'll enjoy this PDF which you can save and/or print for your own use. I just came across this and it's an awesome archival from the Harvard College Library donated from the estate of Edwin Hale Abbot in 1931.

Artificial Corks for Knitting Needle Holders
Rather than buy tip holders for my knitting needles at the craft store, I put old artificial wine corks to use! They already have a hole in them and the tips of the needles can be made to fit them easily. Another craft savings.

Yarn Project in a Bag
Handy and convenient. I put a plastic grocery bag in a small wastebasket. Set any size skein of yarn in it, for the project I'm working on. When going out, I can pull the bag out with project, pattern, and hook or needles.

Pattern for Knit or Crochet Checkbook Cover
Does anyone have a pattern to make my own checkbook cover? Hopefully, in either crochet, knit, or plastic canvas. If not, then whatever. But I need a new one and I'm not willing to pay the exorbitant prices the bank and the other places ask.

Get Yarn From Thrift Stores
A thrifty tip for knitters - look in thrift shops for balls of yarn. I have saved lots of money on my last few projects that way - and it's given me a variety of yarn I could experiment with.

Variation for Knitting a Shawl
One way to vary the knitting on all of your shawl projects is to practice using different knitting combinations of purl and knit to make patterns. (A knitting book will show you how).
