Some people need to run a dehumidifier in their house. Don't dump the water down the drain when it is time to empty it. I save my water in a covered tall container (covered clean garbage can will do) and reuse that water to water all plants summer and winter.
I recently bought a crape myrtle that is about 10 to 12 feet tall. The leaves are falling off for no apparent reason. I water it constantly and it gets lots of sun. Why are the leaves falling off? Thanks.
Free plants! All these plants came from ONE original plant! Bromeliads are great for this because they naturally produce "pups" and you just break them off at the base and put the new pup in potting soil and you have a new plant!
Gardeners are a varied lot. Some prefer growing flowers and herbs and others prefer growing vegetables. Some follow detailed plans, while others prefer to "let the seeds fall where they may." If you have gardeners on your holiday gift list this year, consider giving them a gift based on their personal gardening style
I want to start a vegetable and fruit garden this spring, but I've never gardened before. Does anyone have any tips? Can or should I start the seeds a couple months before (inside) to get a jump on the season?
This is an wooden chair that's seen its last days, so I decided to make a planter out of it by boxing in the seat part of the chair with some scrap wood then filled it with soil and plants.
