I live in NW Ohio. I have some Tulip bulbs that I just did not have time to plant last Fall. I have them in my basement in a bag. They have "sprouts" coming out of them. Is it too late to plant them this Fall? What would happen if I planted them now?
I have Hybrid lilies that started out beautiful. Now on at least 3 of them the leaves started turning yellow at the bottom of the plant, continuing up to the flower. The leaves turn brown and die, but the lily is still blooming. Can you tell me what this might be?
I have planted some Canna Lilies bulbs on a partly shaded hill in my backyard next to some Norwegian spruce. There is some evening sun there though. I planted them March 15th and planted them 6 inches deep.
I know that my mind is going but I'm certain that I heard somewhere that an apple put in a paper bag with a newly planted amaryllis bulb for 1 week would hasten root growth, stem growth, and eventually blooming. It has to do with the ethylene given off by the apple.
About 18 years ago I planted daffodils around new house. My crepe myrtles have matured into trees so the bulbs are in shaded areas now. I noticed that this week one clump is blooming profusely but most others have one or no blooms.
