Growing Spearmint from a Cutting
Can you "root" in water or grow a cutting from a spearmint plant. Has anyone done this, or do you have any information. The research I've done so far hasn't turned up with any real results. Thank you.

Cloning Rose Bushes
Have you ever tried cloning Rose Bushes? If you have with out success, here is a simple tip that will get you started on your way. I took a clipping from a rose bush and put it in some good potting soil mixed with some peat moss. New growth has worked best. This will be the thinner stems that have not developed the wood-like look and feel yet.

Soda Bottles for Cuttings
When I send out cuttings to friends, of plants that propagate easily, I take a 2 liter cola plastic bottle and cut around the top to make a planter. I drill little holes in the bottom for drainage, tear the wrapper off, and decorate it with permanent markers.

Planting Hydrangea Clippings
My mom has hydrangea clippings but they are not rooted. She currently has them in water, but what does she need to do to plant them so they stay alive, or is it possible?

Use Honey as a Rooting Hormone for Cuttings
Prepare cuttings in the usual manner, however dip the ends of the cuttings in honey instead of rooting powder and you will have a high success rate. An old gardener friend has used this method for over forty years and he believes that the hormones produced by the honey promotes rapid root growth.

Use Canning Jars to Start Cuttings
Instead of buying a plant for a birthday or housewarming gift, grow one. I have a few old canning jars in my kitchen window, and I grow new plants in water from clippings of older plants. When it has new roots I plant it in dirt and give a homemade gift that will last.

Grow Cuttings To Give Away
There are many plants that let you take cutting to start new plants. Why not start some in "give-a-way pots". I have several transplants waiting for the right person.
