Crepe Myrtle Not Blooming
Our Crepe Myrtle trees are 6 or 7 years old, but only bloom occasionally. The trees are full of buds, but they never open. We water the trees weekly. We have seen trees in fields that only get water when it rains and they are full of blooms.

Treating a Dogwood Tree for Heat Stress
I have a customer that asked me to trim her dogwood tree/tall shrub. I took some substantial height and width out of it and the weather was fine. Then, 90-100 heat comes and parches the poor shrub. She had a fit and for good reason I guess.

Plants That Can Survive Near a Black Walnut Tree
At least two productive herbs grow under a black walnut tree; caraway seed and tarragon, where others will not. Also I have found red beets, black beets, and red lettuce will grow well.

Digging a Trench Through Tree Roots
I have a mature sweet gum tree that shades my sun room nicely, but I need to run a drain tube down the side of my house. However the roots of the tree cross the area where the drain tube has to go. How much of the roots can be cut without it killing the tree?

Treating Iron Chlorosis
My Autumn Blaze maple leaves are light green with dark veins. I understand this is iron chlorosis and needs chelated iron or sulfur. Can't find chelated iron, but used a regular iron fertilizer (has some sulfur). Any further info would be appreciated.

Sweet Gum Tree Advice
I've had several Sweet Gum trees and their stumps taken out this year. I am having a hard time getting rid of the shooters that keep coming up at the very small amount of stump several inches underground. Ideas?
