Get a Re-key Pack Instead of Changing Your Locks
If you have good hands and you just moved into your new home, you really don't have to change your locks. All you have to do is go to "Home Depot" and get a "Kwikset" or "Schlage" re-key pack and start working. It's easy!

Inspect The Floor When Replacing Doors
We bought our house about 5 years ago. It had the old aluminum frame windows and sliding glass door. This year, we finally bit the bullet and had them replaced with Low-E vinyl windows. We decided to have everything installed by a professional so we didn't mess anything up. I'm so glad we did!

Check Door Hinges Periodically
I just read the hint about checking the screws in your doorknobs. While I was going around, I found that my door hinge pins were all elevated. A couple were half out.

Tighten Screws In Doorknobs
Take a screwdriver along and check all the doorknobs in your home. It may save you some work later. I found that every one of mine needed two or three turns of the screwdriver.
