A Nice Green Lawn on a Budget
I am on a very limited budget. How can I get a nice green lawn. I've planted grass seed, but it never seems to grow, but the weeds sure do. The location is hot and sunny. If there aren't weeds growing there, then it is hard baked earth. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Placement of Plants and Trees
When planting flower beds in your front yard, plant on a diagonal from your house. The yard will have more depth. Never plant trees in the center of the front yard as it shortens it but again plant them on a diagonal from your house. Drive down some streets and look at the difference. It is unbelievable!

Lawn Mowing Tips
Many people think that by cutting their lawn really short, they will have to mow their lawn less often. Most grass types can safely be moved to 2 to 2-1/2 inches tall. Any shorter than that and you risk stunting your lawn's growth.

Lawnmower Tip - Using Up All The Gas
On your gasoline engine lawnmowers: * Always run the engine out of gas before putting it up till your next use. Also, it doesn't hurt to use a bit of gas additive in your fuel (so you don't gum up your carburator.)
