Discouraging Mailbox Vandalism
Our neighborhood has vandals smashing our mailboxes. A friend shared an idea on how to not need to buy a new mailbox each time it is smashed, by reinforcing it. Purchase a large metal mailbox, and a smaller size that can fit inside of the larger mailbox.

My Garden Shed
Here is a picture of my garden shed. I love the old flamingos. I spend many hours inside doing fun planting projects. My husband bought it for me for a Mother's Day gift. It was a perfect gift and I love it and of course I love him too.

Dressing Up a Lattice Fence
I have a lattice fence that hides my pool equipment. I placed Christmas lights (the net kind that you use on shrubs) on the lattice and then planted a vine to cover the lights (I used passionflower here in zone 8 but you could use any vine that does well in your area).

Make Your Own Garden Paths
After my home site was cleared, I was left with a large area in the back which was filled with mud after every rain. Before I installed zoysia sod, I decided to make paths leading to several areas I plan to landscape with shrubs, flowers, and vegetables. The paths would be rather long (150 feet) and it would be very expensive to finish them with cement.

Backyard Campsite Area Near RV
When my husband and I bought a new travel trailer, we constructed a site pad from old bricks we had collected for many years for the travel trailer to be parked on; we used fluorescent paint to mark the bricks that the back wheels of the trailer should be parked on; we back filled the area with shale rock.

Homemade Backyard Firepit
I'm looking for an inexpensive, unique idea for a backyard firepit. I see these made of all kinds of metal, but don't want to risk using something that will melt!

Turning a Porch Into a Sunroom
I had an idea to covert our porch into a temporary sunroom by screening it. Can you make roman shades with screen material to raise and lower? Anyone have any ideas? I can't afford to pay to screen it in.

Salt For Grass Growing in Pavement Cracks
Grass in sidewalk cracks? Plain old table salt will do it. Just pour a generous amount anywhere you don't want grass. Careful though it will kill most other plants too. By Tracey
