| Caring For Cut Flowers
|

Did you get some cut flowers? Here's a little prep work you can do to make them last longer. Using pruning sheers, make a fresh cut at the bottom of the stem. Do this under running water. Don't use scissors for this, they will crush the stems and make it harder for them them to absorb water.

My mother had always told us not to put flowers on her grave when she was gone, for she wouldn't see them. So I came up with an idea. On Mother's Day every year, my hubby and I would buy her a rose bush for her yard.

| Making Mother's Day Gift Baskets

I sell candles, votives and body products and would like to make up some baskets for Mother's Day, birthdays, etc. Can someone give me ideas, as to what to put in a basket? Do you only use baskets and where do you get them? Do you wrap them in cellophane?

For my mother last year I took a plain board (9" x 11") and sanded it smooth. Then I let my children pick 3 different colored craft paints that matched. I primed the board and gave it a base coat of one of their color picks.
