Clean Up Your Bill Clutter Once and For All
By Roxanna Ward
An unorganized bill system can bring havoc to your finances. You have to create a system and keep it in place so that it works for you. Somebody else's system will never work for you. But you may be able to take some ideas from others in order to create your own.

Using Baggies for Bill Organizing
I use baggies for everything. When all my bills are paid I put all the invoices in a baggie and put the month/year on outside. That way if I ever have to go back to find something it's easy.

Return Addresses
When you receive some snail mail from a friend, cut off their return address and save. Use it on your next item you're mailing to them. Just tape it to the package or envelope. Save your time not having to handwrite it all out. I keep a small tin in my desk drawer for just that very reason. By Terri from NV

Expiration Date on Catalogs
Whenever you receive a new catalogue that you intend to keep, either circle the expiration date on the front cover or write it on with a black with a felt tip marking pen. Then you will know when to recycle the catalogue without having to hunt for the date.

A Mail Box For Each Person In The House
I purchased 8 stackable plastic mailbox slots and labeled each one with a family members name. All schoolwork, mail, etc, that is for other people goes in their slot. The kids use it to keep homework that they are working on in it. And when I run into field trip slips and permission forms I sign them and put them in to the child's mailbox slot. This teaches them a lot of responsibility as they have to check it and bring things back to school to turn in. By kriss m

Remembering the Mail
To remember to put out the mail I always get anything ready the night before. Then in the morning on my way out the door to get the paper I take the mail that's in plain sight to the box with me since the mail and paper are side by side. By Melanie

With all of the paperwork flowing into our lives day after day, it's easy for it to get out-of-control. Forms, memos, letters, catalogs, mail, flyers and advertising offers are stacked in our In Box. Leave that In Box untouched for a day, and you've got yourself a paperwork pile. Leave it untouched for a week or more, and you've got yourself a paperwork nightmare!

Take The Time To Get Organized
By Terry Rigg
It can be a real pain to find all of your bills and receipts and organize them in a manner that makes it easy to pay your bills on time and be able to find a receipt if you need it. However, this is just as important as developing a budget or setting your financial goals. If you don't have your finances organized, eventually you will miss paying a bill or have to pay a bill twice because you couldn't find the receipt.
