Organizing Silk Flowers
How do I keep craft items organized? I have extra silk flowers from other projects that are just laying around and nowhere to put them. I tried keeping them in empty coffee cans but I keep adding more to the cans.

Storing Paper Scraps
I use a regular household file, the sort with a fold over lid and handle, to store offcuts of card. I sort into colours. It's easy to find the colour I need. I place all the similar shades in the same section in a penny pocket.

Plastic Page Protectors to Store Patterns
I have found plastic document protectors work great for my patterns. You can xerox a favorite pattern and put in document protector, then organize them in a binder.

Store Glue and Fabric Paint Upside Down
I store my fabric paint in a cardboard box from some pretzels. Keep the bottles stored upside down and they will be ready when you are. If they get clogged, use a paper clip to unclog the tube. Never waste a drop.

Use Over The Door Organizers For Crafts
Keep your craft room organized with this over-the-door hanger made for shoes. It's perfect for keeping sharp things up high away from small hands. It also separates items nicely, and this one is clear so I can easily see where my items are located. It also saves a lot of space and is a less expensive version than a piece of furniture.

Boxes For Storing and Organizing Patterns
I keep my sewing pattern envelopes in page protectors, in a binder. I keep my pattern innards in quart sized ZipLoc storage bags. I am looking for boxes (with tops) 10 in. high x 7 in. wide x 24-26 in. long to store a couple hundred patterns numerically. Plastic sounds best, but cardboard has lasted me for years. I just need to replace them.

Keep Sewing and Craft Supplies Organized Separately
In my sewing chest and my craft basket, I keep the little things separate. In the sewing chest (three drawers), I keep my various scissors in the bottom drawer, including my electric scissors that were a gift. In middle drawer I keep the many spools of thread.

Use Cat Treat Containers For Organizing Craft Supplies
I believe in recycling everything, To organize all my flowers for my scrapbooking, I use my cat's Pounce Cat Treat bottles and put each color of flower in their own bottle. I have a nice shelf unit I got free from a neighbor that they fit in just right. I also use shoe boxes to store small craft supplies and label them and keep them in a closet in my craft room.
