Today I gathered all of mine up from all over the shelf and placed them in a wire basket. Suddenly, everything is easier to find and if someone wants a quick meal, I can tell them to go to the freezer basket.
Keep a list of all the foods in your fridge and freezer on a dry erase board and add/subtract foods as you eat/replenish them! It is great for being able to scan and see what you can make or what you need at a quick glance!
It was time to organize my leftover containers that are kept in a kitchen cupboard on a slide out shelf. I didn't realize how long it had been since the last time I did this until I got to the bottom of the shelf and found things I'm ashamed to tell. I will tell you that there were containers I had forgotten I had because they were buried so deep.
Before putting something in the fridge as a leftover make sure it is in the smallest container it can be, so it will take up less space and cost less to keep cool. No sense in keeping cool a whole crock pot when there's only one bowl left of soup.

I can fully stuff my freezer shelves AND avoid things falling out when I open the door by crisscrossing bungy cord straps between the shelves.

Sometimes I get carried away by specials or forget I already have a lot of something and buy more. After my last pantry cleaning, I posted two lists on the refrigerator. One titled "do not buy" which lists the items I am oversupplied with. The other is titled "use up" and lists the items that need to be used first, such as frozen vegetables or fruits. I preserve a lot of foods so this helps me keep current and gives me ideas for meals when I need inspiration.

Line the drawers of your refrigerator with paper towels to absorb moisture, your fruits and veggies will stay fresher and it makes for easier cleanup of your drawers.

They actually make one for the 'fridge that has a corner portion that keeps it in place better than the round lazy susan. It is clear plastic and a good size. I find it very convenient!
I always try to have frozen veggies on hand, and often use less than a full bag at a time. To keep from losing these partial bags, I keep a plastic crate/box without a lid in the freezer, and that is where all my frozen veggies go.The I know quickly if I still have a half bag of peas or if I should open a new one!
