This is a recipe that is loved my most people and especially by kids. Cook the macaroni according to package directions and drain. Place the macaroni in a greased 2 1/2 quart baking dish.
When I was growing up, most moms were stay at home moms. We were a family of six, my dad sold insurance on commission so mom had to be creative when it came to making a little meat 'stretch'.
I am looking for cheap meals please. With the economy the way it is, and my husband and I both on a Pension I'm having a bit of struggle to be inventive and frugal as well.
This is a recipe I found somewhere on the internet and adapted it. It's really filling and makes enough for 6 people and costs about 50 cents per person :) I made it tonight and it was very filling and tasty!
I make all kinds of meals using ramen noodles. This is one of my faves. Use the same type of meat as the seasoning. Make the ramen noodles as usual. Drain water. Fry your meat with the seasoning.
Put all into a 12 qt pot and simmer for 2-3 hours. Use a hen, it won't break down as quick as a chicken (the meat does not come out dry or stringy) and has more flavor. Check the soup for flavor, add more salt if needed.
Simple meal and cheap.Boil Noodles. Add 1 can of tuna fish and 1 can of cream of mushroom soup. I feed a family of 6 with left overs for about $3. Kids really like it too.
