The Can Opener
In our house, the Can Opener is King; that's just all there is to it. Now I like to think of myself as a decent housewife or at least an adequate one, but I do admit that most of my cooking skills depend on the contents of a No. 2 can.

Cooking With Cast Iron Pans
Easy, excellent nonstick way to clean and care for cast iron! For years I washed my cast iron skillet with water, thinking that was the only way to get off stuck-on egg.

Use Playdoh Fun Factory for Pasta Maker
Oodles of Noodles. All you need: the Fun Factory (the one where you put playdoh in, press into a tube using the handle, and the playdoh comes out in the stencil shape) and semolina flour

Uses for Ben and Jerry's Mini Spoons
I had never had any Ben and Jerry's ice cream before. I know, insane, right? So last night I opened my first mini one, thinking if I didn't like it (NOT) I would only be out a dollar. They come with these cute little spoons on the top under a cardboard lid.

Store an Ice Pick in a Wine Cork
To safely store an ice pick or any other utensil with a sharp tip, just stick into a wine cork. Better grab a real cork while you can get them since they are being replaced with man-made materials more and more often.

Store Tongs in Empty Paper Towel Roll
To easily store kitchen/cooking tongs in your drawer, place them inside an empty cardboard paper towel roll. This keeps them from getting stuck in the drawer when opening.

Use Your Potato Ricer to Remove Moisture from Spinach
If a recipe calls for frozen spinach with the water squeezed out, I have a great and easy way to do this. No more do you need to waste valuable paper towels and make a mess. I use my potato ricer.
