Molasses Butter and Bread
Am I the only one that likes to eat Grandma's Molasses mixed with a teaspoon of butter, to dip a piece of bread in? My mom taught me that years ago, and said that during the war, sometimes that was all they had to eat for desert.

Making Raisin Bread in Bread Machine
I am having a problem making raisin bread in my bread machine. It's an old Breadmaster machine and I have no instruction book. If I add the raisins at the beginning of the cycle they just disappear into the dough.

Where Do You Let Your Dough Rise?
Where do others put their sour dough starter to rise when the house gets cold at night? On top of the water heater is where I used to put it but, the new water heater feels cool on top. It is in a small pantry and may be warm enough but our house is allowed to cool to 65 at night. My last batch just soured and didn't turn out. I think I got it so hot that it killed the yeast because I put it on the hearth. Any help from you pros would be appreciated!

Keep Frozen Bread Dough on Hand
Keep frozen bread dough on hand to save time. You can substitute the thawed dough for just about any yeast bread recipe. I use it for pizza dough (just thaw and roll), sweet rolls, roll out thawed dough, spread with butter sprinkle with brown or white sugar, cinnamon, nuts and raisins.

Bread from Bread Machine is Small
I have just got a bread machine and put in a mix and baked the bread. It was fine except for two problems. My loaf was only about 4 1/2 inches long. Is this normal?

Crust on Homemade Bread is Hard
I have tried to bake my own bread. I use a bread maker to mix the dough. It rises once in the machine. Then I take it out, knead it and let it rise again. When I put it into the oven and bake it. But it doesn't come out right. It gets really crusty. It smells wonderful but is inedible. What am I doing wrong?

Bread Dough Sticking to Towel
Does your bread stick to the tea towel? When I let the bread do it's final rise the dough is sticking to the tea towel and making my loaves look so bad! Please help! Do I even need to cover it? Is this what our grandmothers used to do when the windows were opened and flies would have feasted on the dough?

Add Dried Fruits to Your Bread Machine
We just got another bread machine and have been waking up to the utterly heavenly aroma of fresh bread and coffee, set to finish just as our first alarm rings. We quickly got too used to just plain bread, and I began adding different dried fruit to the bread pan. I know that you are supposed to wait until the proper time to add such things, but I am usually sound asleep then!! lol!! So I just put it in the bottom of the pan and follow the white bread recipe the machine recommends. Here are the dried fruits that we have tried thus far, and we love each one:
