| Changing the Texture of Cooked Oatmeal
I like the flavor of oatmeal and its health benefits, but I'm picky when it comes to textures and can't eat it prepared the traditional way with water. Does anyone have another way of cooking oatmeal so its texture is different?

| Save Time With Complete Pancake Mix

When I buy pancake mix I make sure it's the complete mix. All you have to add is water. With the price of groceries going up, you will save money by not having to add eggs and milk. It also saves time.

| Sprinkle Colored Sugar on Hot Cereals for Kids
I had such a hard time getting my grandson to eat his oatmeal or cream of wheat. I finally shook a little colored sugar sprinkles on top and poof, the oatmeal was gone. Each time we have hot cereals, I pick a different color and just sprinkle enough to make it pretty!

| Add Peanut Butter to Oatmeal
I make instant oatmeal for breakfast several times a week. I've started adding a tablespoon of peanut butter after it's been cooked. I stir it in with a little bit of milk. It tastes delicious, and adds a little boost nutritionally. My kids absolutely love it!

| Oatmeal for a Healthy Breakfast
Oatmeal is a daily consumption around here. Watching calories is also a trend. If you use the 'quick' oats in the microwave, you will only add about 50 calories to that mix as it cooks by putting 7 little marshmallows on top. The Oatmeal is 150 calories and the marshmallows (7) are 50 calories.

| Tips for Stretching Cereal
For breakfast cereal, I try and stretch out the "good stuff" with some more healthy stuff. For instance, I buy a box or bag of Fruity Pebble-type cereal. Once I put this into our rubbermaid type cereal container, I put in some Rice Krispies-type cereal.

| Cooking Pancakes

How do you brown your pancakes? I cook mine in a nonstick Farberware skillet with one tablespoon of vegetable oil but I can't seem to get it to brown on both sides. Maybe my skillet is the problem because it is old and worn.
