Be Aware Where Your Christmas Goodies Are Manufactured
While shopping recently for peppermint candy canes to crush up and use in my holiday baking goodies. I searched several stores in my area, looking for U.S. made of these particular candies. Every candy cane, I found in Walgreens was made in Mexico.

Saving Halloween Candy
Save any non-chocolate Halloween candy left over from your hand-outs or collected from what your children have received and will not eat. Place it into a self-seal plastic bag and put it in the freezer to save for next year. I have done this for the past few years and when the season rolls around each October, I'm all set. I've never had to purchase another bag of candy.

Don't Make Divinity or Fudge In Wet Weather
Don't try to make divinity or fudge when it's raining cats and dogs! In my previous life (young and dumb as opposed to old-er and smart) I tried to make divinity and totally burned up a mixer trying to get it firm, wound up eating it with a spoon.

Molding Candy Melt Suckers and Favors
For Easter, I molded candy melt suckers for my grandchildren. It was very simple and I painted the details on them by mixing food colors to the melted candy and painted them on with a fine tipped art brush.

Storing Chocolate
In 'What Is Boxing Day?' under Featured Articles someone asked how long can chocolate be frozen. Chocolate should not be frozen. When you thaw it out it develops 'bloom', that white/yellow coating.

Chocolate Chips Turned White in Freezer
I had several packages of semi-sweet chocolate morsels (chocolate chips) that I put in the freezer. I took them out a few days ago hoping to make fudge. The chips had turned whitish. Can they still be used?
