| Use a Memo Board for Unusual Grocery Items
I keep a small memo board on the side of my fridge to write down those things you run out of that are not normally on your grocery list. Kraut, capers, special spices, brown sugar, molasses, cranberry sauce, the sort of thing.

| Shop Restaurant Supply Stores
A restaurant supply store is different than a warehouse-type store like Costco. The one I shop at is called Cash and Carry. These allow anyone to purchase without a card. The difference with restaurant supply is that they cater to restaurant owners.

| Company Review: Publix Grocery

I recently bought a food dehydrator and wanted to try beef jerky. I read the instructions and it said to use aged lean beef. I went to Publix Grocery (that was the closest to the motel) and asked what time they marked their meat down and was told they did not.

I have one of those clear see- through magnetic frames; the kind that pulls apart half of the way as you insert whatever picture you might like. Well instead of a picture, I put a blank piece of lined notebook paper in it.

| Wash Reusable Grocery Bags
If you are using reusable bags for groceries (good for you) machine wash them frequently. Simply put them in with your regular laundry. Meat and vegetable juices, left to breed bacteria, in the hot trunks of our cars can make us SICK.

| Gift Card Budgeting

This one works great! Hubby pointed out that he saw big fluctuations from month to month on our grocery spending. I've decided that $400 should be enough for a month of groceries.

Plan every shopping trip, especially those to the grocery store. Learn the prices of items, so you'll know what is a good buy and what isn't.
