| Add Veggies to Tomato Sauce
Make your spaghetti healthier, tastier, and stretch farther using fresh, thin sliced carrot, and/or thin sliced zucchini. It adds color, and flavor to any tomato/pasta combo, and kids love it because the tomato disguises the taste of veges just enough to please their pallet.

| Saving Money While Feeding Active Teens
My teenage son swims at least 25 hours a week, and usually rides his bicycle the 5+ miles each way back and forth to practice. At 6 foot tall and 200 lbs, you can imagine how much our athlete can eat!

| Butter vs. Margarine: You Decide
By Debra Frick
I asked my doctor about "Butter vs. Margarine" and was told that, believe it or not, butter being a natural product was probably better for our bodies.

| Dip Your Fork Into Salad Dressing
Dip your fork into your salad dressing or dip, instead of dunking your food or pouring your dressing over for food. Your tongue will still get the flavor you're wanting, not tons of it, neither will your hips. Plus, you'll not have to purchase the salad dressings as often, so you'll be saving on your food bill.

| Product Review: I Can't Believe It's Not Butter
A few months ago, I was talking to a mortician. He said the best product to use on buttering food items is 'I Can't Believe It's Not Butter'. These buttery tasting products don't clog a person's arteries like margarine (oleo) or butter. The ICBINB products can be bought in spray, stick or tubs, all in the dairy section at most grocery stores.

| Christmas Soup Swap
Calorie Free Christmas! We try to keep things healthy at our house, so instead of a Christmas cookie exchange, we do a soup swap in our neighborhood. Each person brings six containers of their favorite soup. You can use plastic storage or even a Styrofoam cup with a lid. Everyone takes home six different soups. Fun and freezable.

| Give Unwanted Food to Family or Friends
I am terrible when it comes to passing up the snacks when I go to the store. I am trying to curb that desire to snack on chips and dip! This week, I cleaned out my kitchen cabinets and because my dad is on a pension I called him to offer it to him and he accepted GLADLY!

| Eating Beets for Iron Before Giving Blood
I have a tip that might be a bit weird but works. I give blood a lot, but sometimes my iron is not up to par. So instead of going there and coming home because of iron too low, I bought a small can of red beets with the juice and put it in the fridge overnight.

| Golden Mashed Potatoes
When making mashed potatoes, add a couple of handfuls of shredded carrots to the raw potatoes in the pan. This is a wonderful, nutritious addition that is tasty and colorful. My kids ask for this. If you don't have a shredder, just chop the carrots small.
