Use Cereal Liner as Wax Paper
I seldom use waxed paper. In fact I usually only use it when my husband makes hamburgers on the grill, to layer the raw patties in so they won't stick.

Organizing Untried Recipes
When I collect a new untried recipe, I put it in a sheet cover in a thin notebook. If, after trying it, I like it, I put it in a photo album that has the large peel back sheets. If I don't like it, then I just toss it.

Use a Photo Album as a Recipe Holder
I found this "photo" album several months ago at a discount store. I loved the cover but wanted to use it for recipes instead of photos. It just didn't make sense to me to use it for photos with a "chef" motif!

Manual for an Amana Radarange Microwave Convection Oven Plus
I just bought an older Amana Radarange Microwave Convection oven with a dial and push buttons. Does anyone know where I can find an old manual - or a copy with a few recipes and cooking instructions?

Roasting Hickory Nuts
Does anyone know how to prepare and roast Hickory nuts to be cracked? My husband and I have a Hickory tree that has dropped an abundance of nuts into our driveway. We have collected a bunch of them, and have taken the outer husks off. Now to crack the nuts, it is a real challenge.

Using Arrowroot
Arrowroot is used as a thickening agent for gravies and sauces. Will give a nice gloss to the food you add it to.

Keeping Foods Cold Without Electricity
First of all, know what you want from the fridge, retrieve it quickly, and close the door to keep the cold in. Secondly, make room on the middle shelf of your fridge to put a plastic container. I used a basin that came from my husband's last trip to the hospital, but you could use a gallon ice cream container or just a large mixing bowl.

Fry Cake Recipe
My great-grandmother used to make what she called fry cakes. She was a very country person, so the recipe would not be fancy. Hoping some one can help.
