Reuse Food Containers for Packed Lunches
Reuse pickle, mayo or yogurt containers; anything really that has a cover. Wash it out and use it to send (or bring) tuna, chicken salad to work/school,I send my husband to work with left-overs or whatever,if he don't bring it back home,no great loss.

Save Bags for Sack Lunches
When we send our child to school with lunch, he uses a reusable bag. But, when he goes to summer camp at the school, they prefer lunches to be in bags that can be thrown away.

Pack Messy Lunch Items In Plastic Bags
When packing anything in your lunch container that might leak or spill (liquids, etc.), put the items in those plastic bags we all get from the produce section of our local grocery store.

Take Your Lunch in a Cloth Tote Bag
To save paper and money, I take my lunch to work every day in a cloth tote bag that I bought at the Dollar Store. It is about 10x10 inch square and has a nice handle. When I come home, I just put my lunch bag in the fridge so I can find it fast in the morning.

Refill Snack Fruit Cups
I am a mom of four and a very frugal. If I buy applesauce cups for the kids, I don't throw them away. I wash them and make my own fruit cups to pack in their lunch. I cover the tops with Press 'n Seal. I buy the big cans of fruit (peaches, pineapple, fruit cocktail) from Sam's or Costco and can make many fruit cups much cheaper than paying over $2 for 4 cups.

Saving Take-out Condiments For Lunch Bags
Save those packs of mayo, mustard, ketchup, relish, lemon juice, honey, etc. Put them in a bowl in the frig. When you need some for your lunch bag there you are. No mess or fuss.

Use Recycled Gatorade Bottles in Packed Lunches
I finally found a reusable plastic bottle that you can pack in a lunch that won't leak. I washed our used Gatorade bottles by hand and filled them with water. (My son adds powdered drink mix.) You can tip them any which way and they don't leak.

Using Less Baggies For Packed Meals
My husband and I pack lunches and snacks every day (sometimes dinner too) using plastic containers and 4-5 baggies per day. I want to cut down on the amount of baggies, yet don't want to use numerous additional plastic containers. We do not have a dishwasher and already have to wash a LOT of plastic every evening. Does anyone have ideas for what might be workable substitutes for the baggies?

Freeze Lunch Sandwiches In Advance
Freeze a week's worth of lunchmeat sandwiches for your children on Sunday night. Place in ziplock bags or plastic sandwich containers. Freeze and take out the next day right before your children leave for school. Pack in lunches. Sandwiches stay fresh longer, and taste great.

Put Mayo Between Meat and Cheese To Prevent Soggy Sandwiches
My son loves Bologna and Cheese sandwiches with Mayo, but I've always hated knowing that by lunch he was eating a soggy sandwich. SO, I started putting the mayonnaise on between the bologna and cheese so that the bread doesn't get soggy. It's worked wonders and he doesn't complain.
