Use Dry Milk for Cooking
For the past several months, I have been buying organic milk, which is more expensive then non organic milk. Since I use milk in many of my recipes, gravy, baking and sauces, I now buy the least expensive dry milk available and keep it on hand for everything else.

Using Applesauce Instead of Oil
Does it have to be unsweetened applesauce when you use applesauce to replace oil in a recipe? Will regular applesauce work just as well?

Substitute for Candied Fruit Peel in Recipe
I am going to make green tomato mincemeat this year as I do most years, however the recipe calls for chopped candied fruit peel which I absolutely detest. In previous years I have just left it out.

Substituting Arrowroot for Cornstarch
My son has a corn allergy. An allergy site says to substitute arrowroot for cornstarch in recipes. Are the measurements the same for both? Hope someone can help, he's missing his oriental food something fierce.

Substituting Sparkling Water of Soda in Diet Cake
I am going to be making a diet cake (or maybe you call it soda cake) soon. I want to know if instead of the can of soda, if I can use 12oz. of sparkling water? It is flavored, carbonated water, so pretty much like diet coke. Would this turn out the same?
