Another source for vintage holiday ecards! There are lovely New Year's cards - I plan to send some of those to anyone I missed and others I just want to shower with good wishes.
I like to send cards to my brother's family out of state for each holiday. The little nephews, ages 4 and 1, love to get mail. I love to receive pictures from them to post on my fridge too. I decided instead of spending money on a card, I printed off pictures to color on the internet and put in envelope with a return one for me.
Please be thoughtful when purchasing store gift cards for others. Generally they're a great idea, but keep in mind they cannot be turned in at the store for cash. Be sure the card is from a store that the giftee actually shops at and that isn't going to move or close or go out of business within the next year. Also, check for any expiration dates and fees that reduce the amount on the card.
Greeting cards have gotten so expensive and my husband has a large family and lots of birthday cards to send out. So I look for nice birthday cards at thrift shops, when they have them.
Do you have relatives/friends/colleagues who speak a foreign language? Did you know that you can find out what a seasonal greeting is on the internet by putting in, for ex. Easter + Spanish? And then cut and paste into a greeting, or copy onto your card.
